Take the next step in your career - help lead engineering at a fast-paced, growing startup (www.wildcard.money)
The problem we're solving
We live in a world of instant gratification that wants you to spend money you don't have, on stuff you don't need. Just look at the growing number of buy-now-pay-later platforms that make it even easier to spend without thinking.
It's a big part of why a quarter of young Australians have less than $1000 in savings.
How we help
We want to help our generation spread out their pay without resorting to short term credit. So we built a transaction account that gives you a portion of your pay every day (we jokingly call it "BeforePay").
And it looks like it's working - since launching a full transaction and savings account last month, we're now growing by almost 1000 accounts per week.
Why we need you
We need a skilled Ruby on Rails developer to take over our backend development, and help us make the big decisions on how we scale this product from where it is now, to where we want it to be. A well-built, well-tested, secure, reliable and solid backend will be absolutely crucial to our long-term success.
What's in it for you
You’ll get to lead big picture projects like our open API and Open Banking integration, as well as initiate projects of your own to help the business grow.
Working at a small company will give you the opportunity to improve in every aspect of your craft, in a fast-paced, exciting environment. And as an early employee, you'll have a big influence over the direction of the company, as well as receive a stake in the business.
Lots of “progressive” companies like to brag about all the cool stuff you get working for them, like beer fridges and foosball tables. We think some things are more important than “work perks”, like unlimited annual leave, transparent salaries, and being free to choose how, when and where you work. Read more: https://bit.ly/2sxdmZP
Our engineering philosophy
We believe that clean, simple and easy to understand code is critical to our success, not an afterthought. Our codebase is our workspace, and we take pride in it. Read more: https://bit.ly/2lU5BN6
