UX Architect, Lead Generation

The Lead Generation Team sits within the Digital team at Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) and is responsible and accountable for creating an experience and customer-led website, while optimising traffic and enquiry conversion across FlightCentreAU.com.

Our role is to enhance the user experience across our website, showcasing marketing campaigns/ partnerships, and best, relevant product and deals. There is also a service and help aspect to the website which we need to ensure we design for.

The team is made up of UX/UI Designers, Business Analysts, Developers, Technical Architect and Onsite Optimisation and Analytics.

Reporting to the Website Experience Manager, the UX Architect is responsible for the strategy, creation and design of useful, engaging, consistent and commercially viable experiences across primarily FlightCentreAU.com.

Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ needs and help us grow our customer base and bottom line.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure a seamless experience between our marketing website and commerce streams, in line with best practice User Experience standards
  • Define the website experience and ensure the consistent execution of design deliverables, in line with the strategy and experience
  • Contributing to the development of detailed experience designs from project inception, through to build and launch (translating high level business requirements into tangible user interface proposals that integrate the latest standards in interaction design and trends in visual design)
  • Conducting user research activities including interviews, contextual enquiries, surveys and metrics analysis
  • Contributing to the creation of UX deliverables including personas, scenarios, task flows, information architectures, prototypes, wireframes, mock-ups and interactive prototypes
  • Contributing to the design of digital interfaces that embody core user experience principles whilst balancing the needs of customers and the business
  • Planning and conducting face to face and remote usability studies of existing and proposed designs and documenting recommendations for improvement
  • Conducting heuristic reviews of existing interfaces and document recommendations
  • Support User Experience Guild as required
  • Mentor and oversee all UX and design work across the whole Lead Gen team ( 4 UX/UI designers currently)

Skills and capabilities

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a UX role
  • Senior UI design skills
  • Strong knowledge of user-centred design methodologies and techniques
  • Experience interpreting and making design recommendations based on analytics (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how design should function
  • Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams
  • Thorough understanding of digital technologies and trends
  • Experience working with wireframing/prototyping tools such as Sketch and Invision
  • Experience with mobile-first responsive design
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colours and images
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pace, high-volume and output team

Highly Desirable

  • Omni-channel experience design, Online retail or travel experience
  • Experience working in Agile methodologies
  • Understanding of material design principles
  • People management
  • Accredited qualification in User Experience, Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction or similar
